The overall goal of stainless steel coil storage control is to stabilize the storage environment, isolate corrosive media, and avoid condensation on the surface of the plate. By relying on environmental control, isolation protection, standardized stacking, and regular inspections, the risk of floating rust caused by chloride ions and water vapor adhesion is reduced, ensuring the surface quality of stainless steel coils and avoiding defects such as color difference and pitting during subsequent processing. Specific requirements and protective measures are as follows:
1. Storage temperature and humidity control requirements
Prioritize controlling the relative humidity of the storage environment to not exceed 60%, and maintaining the ambient temperature within the range of 10-30 ℃ to reduce the temperature difference between day and night. Excessive temperature difference can easily form condensation on low-temperature surfaces. After water vapor adheres, trace amounts of chloride ions and dust in the air can induce floating rust; When the environmental humidity remains above 70%, the risk of corrosion will significantly increase. During rainy, rainy, and coastal storage areas, dehumidification equipment should be used to strictly control humidity; Avoid placing stainless steel coils directly in the open, low-lying, near external walls or water pipes to prevent condensation and rainwater splashing.
2. Isolation of warehouse environment and media
The warehouse should be kept clean and ventilated, and the air should not contain corrosive gaseous media such as hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid, salt spray, etc; Stainless steel coils of different grades should be stored in separate zones, and direct contact with carbon steel and iron materials is strictly prohibited to prevent the transfer and adhesion of iron chips and iron powder, which may cause rust; The ground should be treated with anti-seepage and moisture-proof measures, and wooden pallets and rubber pads can be laid to prevent the bottom of the steel coil from directly contacting the ground with moisture.
3. Packaging and film protection management
The protective film, moisture-proof wrapping film, and desiccant that come with the finished product should be kept intact, and damaged packaging should be promptly replenished; The selection of protective film should match the surface type, and high-temperature storage areas should avoid long-term adhesion of high viscosity films to prevent residual glue from weakening the moisture-proof effect; The desiccant inside the moisture-proof bag should be regularly inspected and replaced. After the packaging is opened and materials are collected, the remaining roll materials should be resealed and wrapped.
4. Stacking and lifting specifications
Steel coils are stacked vertically or securely horizontally, with reasonable control of stacking height to prevent packaging compression damage and board surface compression damage; Use specialized lifting equipment for hoisting, and add soft cushions for isolation to prevent steel wire ropes and lifting equipment from scratching the surface and damaging the protective layer; The corners such as the end of the roll and the edge of the board are high-risk areas for condensation, and it is important to focus on package protection.
5. Daily inspection and abnormal handling
Establish a regular inspection mechanism, focusing on checking whether the packaging is damaged, whether there is condensation, water stains, white or yellow brown rust spots on the board surface; If condensation is found, it should be promptly transferred to a dry area and wiped with a dry soft cloth for ventilation; Minor floating rust can be cleaned with specialized stainless steel cleaning paste or neutral cleaning agent, and then dried and retested after cleaning; Materials with pitting defects should be isolated and labeled separately to evaluate whether they can be put into use.
6. Key points of supporting management
Choose dry periods as much as possible for material requisition and unpacking operations; The unpacked stainless steel coils should be prioritized for production and should not be left exposed for a long time; Ensure smooth drainage in the storage area and eliminate surface water; Avoid grinding and cutting carbon steel inside the warehouse area to prevent iron dust from floating and scattering on the surface of stainless steel.
